Mumbai’s Wellington Fountain is among the landmarks that have earned a special mention in UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage in 2018. 

The UNESCO praised the restoration of Wellington Fountain. 

This landmark was built in memory of the Duke of Wellington in 1865.

A faithful servant of the British Crown who visited Bombay in 1801 and 1804, the Wellington fountain was one of the first impressions of the city the visitor arriving via Gateway of India had.
