The Dr.Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum formerly the Victoria and Albert Museum is the oldest museum and it was founded and established by Lord Elphinstone in Byculla in the year 1855.
It is a treasure house of the decorative and Industrial arts. This museum is recognized as the Natural History, Economy, Geology, Industry, and Arts, as it was the first museum in Bombay.
Bhau Daji Lad and Jaganath Shunkerseth to raise money for construction of a new building for the museum which was laid in 1862.
After which the museum was renamed as the Dr.Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum.
