Can you imagine India without the greatest freedom fighter "Mahatma Gandhi" if not then this place is for you as Mani Bhavan was Gandhi's Mumbai headquarters for almost 17 years for the period between 1917 to 1934.
Mahatma Gandhiji initiated the Non-Cooperation, Satyagraha, Swadeshi, Khadi and Khilafat Movements from this place.
In the year 1955, the building was taken under the control of the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi in order to preserve and maintain it as a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.
At this place, you will find Gandhi's pictures depicting his life from his childhood till his assassination.
The room that Mahatma Gandhiji used to use during his stay is on the second floor.
Where two of his spinning wheels, a book, and his bed on the floor has been preserved.
